Clay Marzo is the ‘real deal’ being referenced as, ‘one of the best surfers in the world,’ by icon Kelly Slater. As a little guy, Clay was in the water before he could walk, spending most of his time there in his “happy place.” He rips, surfing with soul, adapting his movements to the ripple of the waves and it is a thing of beauty to watch. What you don’t realize is that Clay is affected by autism.

Clay had an incredible amateur and early pro career having the natural talent that blew him off the charts. Filmmakers on EPIC TV produced a series entitled, ‘What Happened to Clay Marzo?’ which follows Clay’s journey.

Diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, a mild form of autism, Clay found it difficult though to make his way in the cut throat world of professional surfing and fell victim to the economic downturn hitting the surfing industry. Now 24, he finds himself at a crossroads in his career. 'What Happened to Clay Marzo' takes an honest and insightful look the life and times one of the most unique and inspirational athletes of any sport. Check out this compelling series here.
